ALTAR OF OBLIVION
Tim says "A brand new Epic Heavy Metal band with Doom touches has
emerged from the great Denmark. I received their Demo in 2007 and was
blown away by the potential this band had. Martin
(guitarist/songwriter) has a really unique riffing style that I love.
The riffs are really catchy, heavy, and choppy (for lack of a better
word). When you finally get used to his guitar playing you’ll find out
it’s a signature sound that he developed. The combination of the Epic
styled songwriting with some really subtle Doom-y sections mixed with
the very young, talented, and uniquely distinct Mik on vocals puts this
band to the top of the Epic Heavy/Doom metal scene. If you liked the
demo at all (by the way “Wrapped In Ruins” is again featured on this
new album) the new album is definitely were you would have wanted the
band to be by this time because the songwriting has exceeded the
expectation. This album is a full-on conceptual, emotional trip about
the pain, suffering, and horrors of war. With that in mind, expect
nothing but crushing riffs filled with sorrow, despair, and with
powerful vocals with so much emotion, depending on your mood might
bring a tear to your eye. ALTAR OF OBLIVION are keeping the Epic Doom
torch a flame that was started by the great and well respected bands
like CANDLEMASS, SOLSTICE, SOLITUDE AETURNUS, REVELATION, TROUBLE, etc."

ARGUS Argus
Tim says "With those of you familiar with Butch era PENANCE (USA
Classic Doom), you already know how great his vocals are and those of
you who aren’t will learn soon. ARGUS, a new and hungry band from the
USA are very well versed with the Maryland Doom Metal and Epic Heavy
Metal scene. They released a very well written Demo in 2007 on John
Brenner’s Bland Hand Records as a download. For those of you that loved
the Demo like I did, this is what you would expect their full length to
sound and then some! THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG fans are going to go
absolutely nuts over this album for the sheer volume of twin axe guitar
shredding alone!! There are a lot of catchy, layered riffs on top of
many hooks and sing a long choruses. On top of all these well-written
Epic songs, there are TROUBLE-eque Doom Metal break downs to die for
feathered throughout the album. Shall I say “instant classic”? That’s
for you to decide. Look for them to release a 10” EP on one of my
favorite labels, The Miskatonic Foundation in the near future as well."

ASYLUM The Earth Is The Insane
Asylum of the Universe
Tim says "The legendary Maryland Doom Metal scene was and still is
filled with monster bands! ASYLUM (who later changed their name to
UNORTHODOX because their old Record Label requested it) is yet another
underground gem, never officially released. With only copies of this
tape being spread (known as the 1985 Demo) around in trading circles
since the time of its recording in 1985, this was one of the harder
demos to find. Now for the first time in 23 years, this recording is
being officially released. What a treat this is for 80’s metal fans too
because what most people don’t know is that Dale Flood
(guitarist/vocalist) is an absolute magician on the axe. His style
derives from Progressive 70’s Rock like RUSH, YES, DEEP PURPLE, etc
mixed with the thunderous and mighty Doom/Heavy riffs from likes of
PENTAGRAM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, etc. This is all played together
with an amazing rhythm section and who I think is one of the most
underrated drummers in Heavy Metal, Ronnie Kalimon. This album has its
own mark and sound in the underground and believe me this is no carbon
copy of any other band; their unique sound speaks for itself and stands
alone! The amazing thing about this recording is that is sounds fresh
and new even though it’s 23 years old. If you love 70’s Heavy Rock,
80’s Heavy Metal and Doom, you won’t believe your ears! This is the
very first ASYLUM demo released with all its flaws from low budget
recording and if you like this, there’s plenty more in the ASYLUM vault
to be released in the future."

CASSLE Cassle
Tim says "Formed in the late '70s it’s not a surprise that Cassle has
inherited those influences, in particular Deep Purple, Rush, and Judas
Priest. Also since their original EP wasn’t released until 1983, they
definitely have a lot of Iron Maiden and Saxon in their sound as well.
I don’t think I’d call Cassle a metal band though (even though their
pictures look like they are). They are probably more of a Progressive
Rock band with '80s metal influences. This is some unique music, very
off-beat, dreamy, and moody with strange vocals. Their career was very
short lived and some of the unreleased songs on here are arguably just
as strong as the original EP if not better. This is basically a
collection of all their essential material with an nice thick booklet
for your enjoyment."

CONDENADOS A Painful Journey Into NIHIL
Tim says "A relatively new Doom Metal band hailing from Chile; with a
very traditional Heavy Metal / Doom Metal sound. The majority of the
songs are sung in English, only a few are sung in Spanish. Carrying the
old flame of Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus; Condenados takes those
influences to create an ultra heavy and hypnotic rhythm and riff driven
album while all sung in clean vocals. The album is an epic and
emotional journey to explore the dark side of your mind.

CRISIS Armed To The Teeth + Kick It Out 2CD
Tim says "Obscure US 80's Metal band CRISIS formed back in 1980. Taking
a heavy dose of their influences from MOTORHEAD, RAVEN, IRON MAIDEN,
and the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, it wasn't to big of a suprise
that they got signed to an English label, Bullet Records. Their debut
came out in 1984 "Armed To The Teeth" and of course their music was
much bigger in Europe than the USA because they weren't being another
Motley Crue or Quiet Riot band. After the well received first album,
the band's label went bankrupt and the second album "Kick It Out"
failed to reach European distributors and their established fans. The
band struggled on and eventually called it quits. This release contains
the band's entire career on a double disc with a full color booklet

CROWNED
IN EARTH Visions Of The Haunted
Tim says "Crowned in Earth was formed
by Kevin Lawry in 2008. After forming his own Death / Doom band, Silent
Winter, Kevin decided to venture more into the traditional side of Doom
and Epic Doom Metal, drawing his main influences from Reverend Bizarre,
Cathedral, and Black Sabbath. After a self-released EP (on CD-R) the
foundation was laid down to make a bigger step into creating a
full-length album with a stronger focus on the songwriting. With the
progress of the new songs coming along, the recruit of drummer Darin
McCloskey (Pale Divine, Falcon, ex Sinister Realm) stepped into play on
the album. With the distance of 2 guys, you wouldn’t be able to tell
they weren’t in the same room while this was recorded. The songs remind
me (but really hard to pinpoint) of a blend of a few different styles,
like Reverend Bizarre, Lord Vicar, The Obsessed, with a small dose of
Italian Horror church organs like Paul Chain, Black Hole, or Death SS
might put together, but with a cleaner recording. The album is
extremely well produced considering the nature of how this all came
together."

DAWN OF WINTER The Peaceful
Dead
Tim says "Dawn Of Winter have been playing Traditional Doom Metal for
nearly 20 years now! What, really??!! Yeah! Talk about being under the
radar. Their early material wasn’t the easiest to obtain over the years
and a lot of their releases were of the Demo fashion with thin
production, passed out to diehard fans. Dawn Of Winter have a mountain
of music to be heard and even I haven’t heard all of it, but I can tell
you this is the very best I’ve heard this band sound! I think their
songwriter/guitar player Jorg wrote some of the very best Doom Metal in
recent years and when I received a copy of their album from Massacre
Records in 2008, I was immediately blown away by the sheer passion
executed on this album. Riff after hypnotic riff mixed with stellar
vocals (provided by Gerrit from SACRED STEEL) and catchy choruses is
what this album is all about. The songwriting is as good as it gets
here, the hooks are immeasurable, and I hope everyone is completely
blown out of their skulls by this one like I am. If you have heard this
band before, this is not the same band you’ve heard in the past,
they’re different now and the production on the album is a massive step
up to what they’ve been doing in the past."

DEATH MASK Exhumation
Tim says "Deep beneath the Maryland Doom Metal scene in the mid to late
80’s DEATH MASK emerged for a short time period. They hardly played
that much and went unknown to virtually many Doom Metal collectors
because were never able to get this because it was only available as a
6 track demo known as “The Beginning”, and it probably didn’t get too
far outside the Maryland area (I assume). This is a unique band to say
the least, but also a very magical sounding band where there are some
moments in the music where your jaw will just drop to the sheer
innovativeness of the way they put these riffs and songs together. Tom
(the guitar player) plays some of the sickest riffs I’ve ever heard.
Some of the stuff this guy comes up with is out of this world. Some of
the songs they put together have like 5-7 amazing riffs in one song
whereas a lot of bands rely on 1 or 2 good riffs to carry out a song
(which isn’t a bad thing either). I hear a ton of ANGEL WITCH, CELTIC
FROST, DREAM DEATH, TROUBLE in their darker / doom-y sounds and in
their faster thrash-y parts, there’s a heavy VENOM, MOTORHEAD vibe. In
short they’re best described as a ½ Doom Metal, ½ Thrash
Metal band with amazing break downs. The vocals are an acquired taste
like a wasted VENOM/MOTORHEAD-ish sound, but one thing’s for sure, this
band is the definition of HEAVY!"

DEEP SWITCH Nine Inches Of God 2CD
Tim says "The New Wave Of British Heavy Metal in my opinion has
basically 2 eras. The first era is from 1979 to 1981 which is
considered the big boom of Heavy Metal. The 2nd era is from 1982 to
1986-ish. So taking us into the mid 80’s a band from the U.K. emerged
called Deep Switch. They looked and sounded like no other band and that
still holds true today. They never really took heavy metal too
seriously, but that doesn’t mean their music wasn’t serious, because it
was, although it was laced with a lot of humor. I think Deep Switch was
more influenced by Monty Python than heavy metal. This is extremely
unique and original material. Even if you’re not into obscure
N.W.O.B.H.M., you should at least treat yourself to hearing this just
for the experience. The release consists of 2 CDs, the first one being
their classic album, while the 2nd disc is a collection of all their
demos. They had a very short lived career, but a very long-winded tale
of their history is written inside this massive booklet along with ton
of band photos. This band is so original and unique I really couldn’t
even point you to some other similar sounding bands." Listen: http://www.myspace.com/deepswitch

Tim says "Demontage is one of the finest new talents that are hidden
this gigantic sea of new and average bands out there. With so much
music out there you got to wonder what’s new, unique, and good out
there these days. If you’re a fan of anything that involves old 80’s
Black, Thrash, or Traditional Metal, look no further than this band.
What’s simply amazing about them is their ability to play a lot
different styles of Heavy Metal in chaos, yet blend them ever so
smoothly is something no less of a great accomplishment. I know that
might sound strange or crazy, but you’ll understand what I mean when
you listen to the album. For fans of just about everything the 80’s had

ENERGY
VAMPIRES Energy Vampires
States the label: "In 1989 ENERGY VAMPIRES rose out of the ashes of the
cult legendary US Metal band SLAUTER XSTROYES whom I happen to think
are one of the greatest metal bands ever. The only member from SLAUTER
XSTROYES to form this band was lead vocalist Jonathon Stewart, which to
me is still one of the best vocalists ever. In fact, he's right up
there with legendary voices such as Rob Halford and King Diamond, if
not better. The music is very much a continuation of legendary SLAUTER
XSTROYES sound and even 2 songs from the SLAUTER days were re-recorded
on this album. This was originally only released as a tape of 500
copies back in the early 90's. You can check out some great videos of
them on www.youtube.com. Absolutely essential album with bonus tracks.
One of the bonus songs was just recently finished in 2007 as an extra

GARDEN OF WORM Garden of Worm
Tim says "Finally the time has come for Garden Of Worm to release a
full length album. For quite some time now they've been slowly putting
out demos and Eps since 2004 to experiment and carve out their own
unique brand of Heavy / Progressive Doom Metal. I'd say they've
definitely found their own dramatic sound here with this new material.
The elements of Progressive is very dominate, with sounds that range
from upbeat to mournful in a blink of an eye. This is an extremely wavy
ride to get on and it's going to require repeated listens and your
undivided attention to fully absorb and appreciate this work of art.
REVELATION / AGAINST NATURE fans will probably be attracted to this
album the most as it's similar in the approach, but the execution pans
out to be much different."

GENOCIDE (Nippon) Black
Sanctuary 2CD
Tim says "The 80’s Japan Heavy Metal scene is loaded with a ton of
great bands and some of those bands are some of the very best bands in
the world. To keep it simple this re-issue is for all the die-hard
MERCYFUL FATE fans out there. There are very few vocalists in the world
that have what I like to call an acrobatic ability. When I think of
some of the best vocalists out there with that ability there are 3
names that spring to mind; King Diamond, which we all know, Jonathon
Stewart (from SLAUTER XSTROYES and ENERGY VAMPIRES), which some of us
know, and the guy in this band (GENOCIDE (Nippon), Toshihiro Takeuchi.
Talk about dynamics, this guy has it all; melodic, imagination, crazy,
high falsetto, and he does it in English and Japanese in the same song.
That’s not all this band is good for though. The guitar players here
are unbelievable! They’ve got an amazing style like Denner and Shermann
once had back in the early MERCYFUL FATE days and a lot of their sound
has a Doomy feel to it also. This is one of the very best hidden gems
in all of Japan and I can strongly say that this is top 1-5 records
(depending on my mood) of all-time that came out of that country. This
re-issue will include re-issue artwork requested by the band and I can
honestly say it’s one of the best Japanese looking metal album cover
I’ve seen to this day. A big thank you goes out to Nicola Solieri for
providing this amazing cover. Don’t worry nerds, I’ll provide the
original cover on the flip side of the booklet. Expect a re-mastered

THE HAND OF DOOM Poisonoise 2CD
20 tracks on 2 discs
Tim says "Who in the hell on Earth is THE HAND OF DOOM you ask? Sorry
Doom Metal nuts, they’re not Doom at all. BUT… good news, they’re an
incredible heavy band from Germany that originally had a limited press
album from 1979. You might be surprised when I tell you they’re really
a Heavy Rock N’ Roll Punk / (proto/early) Metal band, and very similar
to the early bands that started the N.W.O.B.H.M. that combine early
Punk Rock and fused it with Heavy Rock. I think this band will appeal
to fans of (of course) 70’s era MOTORHEAD, DISCHARGE, BRATS
(pre-MERCYFUL FATE band), MC5, THE STOOGES, THE CLASH, SEX PISTOLS,
SARCOFAGUS, ACCEPT, 70’s era JUDAS PRIEST, DIAMOND HEAD, and all fans
of the N.W.O.B.H.M. This is a very unique sounding band, really hard to
describe their sound (which is a good thing). This release will have
11, yes 11 bonus tracks (some unreleased) on the 180 gram double vinyl

IRON MAN I Have Returned
Tim from SKR says "Iron Man's guitar player/song writer Al Morris III
has been writing
the most savage/heaviest sounding guitar riffs for over 2 decades now!
I cannot stress enough to Heavy Metal fans out there that if you
haven't heard Iron Man, find something FAST! You're missing out on some
of the most mind-bending groove-laden (Maryland) Doom metal around.
It's a shame they never got the recognition they deserve, yet! I'm
hoping to help change that for them for their forthcoming album "I Have
Returned". I've listened to this album a million times already and I
can firmly tell everyone this is the very best underground recording
I've ever heard on an independant label. This recording sounds like it
should be on a major label and I didn't even mention the superior
songwriting yet! The songs are very well written and catchy, I'm
convinced there's not a stale riff in Al Morris's soul! The man is a
guitar god!! Louis is a top-notch bass player, Dex's drums are
thunderous and just about as balanced as it gets, and Joe's vocal
performance is far beyond my expectation. I'm incredibly honored the
band and their manager had faith in me to release their album and it's
going to be a pleasure to read, hear, and see the reactions of metal
fans far and wide with this release. I think this could have a MAJOR
impact on the Heavy Metal scene in 2009."

IRON MAN Black Night
Tim says "Very few bands come close to sounding like the classic BLACK
SABBATH, but I think IRON MAN along with WITCHFINDER GENERAL,
PENTAGRAM, and PAGAN ALTAR are the closest from the beginning. IRON MAN
is a very special band to the underground heavy metal scene which
craves for those fans who seek dark/doomy sounds that SABBATH created
and really there are not many bands that even dared to try to re-create
SABBATH with their own twist, but I feel IRON MAN have done so without
being a cut and paste rip off band. This first album marks a birth of
one of the few bands like I mentioned above who dove in head first into
that dark atmosphere. This album is all about the riffs and heaviness,
which if SABBATH themselves would ever hear this, they probably would
be impressed too. There wasn’t much salvaged from the early days of
IRON MAN , so the photos are limited, but we were able to re-master the
album to make it sound as heavy as possible."

continues to write crushing riffs on this album and with the

ISEN
TORR Mighty and Superior EP
3 tracks
Superb Euro/US traditional power
metal with all lead vocals by TWISTED TOWER DIRE singer Tony Taylor.
States the label (after spellcheck): "Formed by the legendary Rich
Walker (now in PAGAN
ALTAR!), most notably from the classic UK Doom Metal band SOLSTICE (+
countless other bands/projects) and mastermind behind one of the best
labels ever, The Miskatonic Foundation, he decided to branch out yet
again and form this band, ISEN TORR! Originally released in 2003 on
vinyl only, Mighty And Superior is the perfect name for this album
because this is exactly what Epic Metal should sound like! In terms of
quality and sound, think early IRON MAIDEN and classic era MANILLA
ROAD. 2 Epic songs clocking in over 8 minutes a piece (CD version will
be 3 songs and almost 25 minutes!!)! This is the first time it will be
available on CD, and the CD version will have a bonus track (a demo
version of "The Theomachist")." The Miskatonic label states: "Truly
the first supergroup of Underground Epic Metal, the mighty and superior
ISEN TORR are the living embodiment of ANGLO SAXON BATTLE METAL. There
are numerous bands who pretend to play Battle Metal with their weak
commercial happy sounding Euro crap, but none of them can begin hope to
match the brutality of the ISEN TORR.....ever. ISEN TORR was created by
Richard M. Walker of SOLSTICE and OLIVER ZUHLKE of SAVAGE RITES/RITUAL
STEEL. They were joined by fellow sojourners Perry M. Grayson of
FALCON/ DESTINY'S END and finally by the legendary Tony Taylor of
TWISTED TOWER DIRE/OCTOBER31. With the aid of one of Oliver's
ex-Bandmates, the four recorded the already classic EP in 2003 entitled
"MIGHTY & SUPERIOR". Containing two bone crushing slabs of
monolithically heavy EPIC metal inspired by the greats of the NWOBHM,
the band instantly found themselves elevated to well deserved cult
status. Currently work has commenced two years later than anticipated
on preparing the second of their planned trilogy of 10" EP's (ISEN TORR

JAMESON
RAID Just As The Dust Had Settled
Tim says "Talk about another quality
N.W.O.B.H.M. band that again fell under the radar. Again, plagued by
the music industry, they never reached as many ears as they would have
liked back then. The band formed in the late 70’s and wrote some of the
catchiest tunes imaginable from that era. The “Seven Days Of Splendour”
single features some of the best tunes ever created back then and when
you pick this anthology of songs presented here, you’ll agree the
quality is here. I could play “It’s A Crime” on repeat for days and
never get sick of that riff. The vocals are pretty straight forward,
with a slightly unique pitch and tone to them. I can’t imagine any
collector of N.W.O.B.H.M. not wanting this for their collection. Let

then, but they were onto something unique and special from way back
then. Their earliest recordings featured Omar as the singer instead of
what (most) everyone is used to … Mike Scalzi singing. Their early
stuff is really rough 80’s sounding metal with the obvious THIN LIZZY
influence and a dash of Punk Rock. After all the years it is finally
nice to see a band like this get a lot of press and success in the
underground. I’m so pleased and incredibly honored to announce this
release of their earliest live and demo recordings all put together on
one release. If you are a fan of THE LORD WEIRD SLOUGH FEG and are used
to their ultra clean and crisp sound, you’re not going to find it here.
This release is for the ultra diehard fans and you’ll be happy to know
there are 6 unreleased songs (2 which are cover songs) and a really
entertaining interview with Mike Scalzi at the end of the album. Look
for this release to be put on for the first time EVER a quadruple VINYL
release (if I can do it) with amazing artwork that inspired THE LORD
WEIRD SLOUGH FEG in those early days that you’re about to hear."

MANILLA ROAD After Midnight
Live
Tim says "Manilla Road, the grandfathers of Epic Heavy Metal are truly
a remarkable band in the history of Heavy Metal. This release marks a
time period before the break out of their first album "Invasion". These
5 songs mark the 2nd half of their very long radio show on a cold,
snowy night in the winter of December 1979. Luckily the 2nd half of the
show has all the unreleased Manilla Road songs fans are dying to hear.
These songs represent the "Invasion" sound and the start of one of the
greatest Heavy Metal bands in the history of Heavy Metal. There's 5
Epic songs, transferred straight off the master tapes untouched, raw,
and with antique charm."

MANILLA ROAD The Deluge
Tim Says "Shadow Kingdom Records is proud to announce the Grandfathers
of US Epic Heavy Metal band MANILLA ROAD. This is their 5th album,
which was originally released in 1986. They had just starting inserting
some METALLICA influence into their classic sound on the previous album
“Open The Gates”. So coming into this album is a little more sped up
from their last effort. Their roots were mostly a hybrid mix of mostly
RUSH, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, and HAWKWIND. This album is classic
MANILLA ROAD and I’m sure if they would have been picked up by a bigger
label, this album would have been the one to put them on the map and
receive the recognition they deserved in their home land (USA). This is
a pretty dark album as a whole and a great mix of Epic/Adventurous and
Speed. The music was pretty complex, arguably the most complex they
wrote up until that point, but it still had the hooks that make up the
real magic that is behind MANILLA ROAD."

OLD YRON Old Yron
Tim says "The Italian 80’s metal scene is one of my favorites of all
time. Bands like BLACK HOLE, DARK QUARTERER, DEATH SS, PAUL CHAIN,
BULLDOZER, RUN AFTER TO, NECRODEATH, BERSERKS are some of the better
bands from that era. I’d like to think that OLD YRON towards the end of
the 80’s was an unknown forgotten gem for the time of its release,
especially since the tides were changing and this kind of IRON
MAIDEN-esque heavy metal was beginning to die out in popularity while
new genres started to emerge. I think this release was really unknown
to a lot of people considering it was a DIY pressing. Here you will
find extremely fast heavy metal, but not Thrash. OLD YRON had a very
violent lead guitar layered with shredding riffs and over the top high
pitched vocals. Think IRON MAIDEN meets YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, but without
going overboard with the guitar shredding. The band has absolutely no
demos, rehearsals, or any other music except for this album as far as
we know. There were no master tapes so the best option the band wanted
to do was to rip the music directly from the original vinyl. The only
bonus tracks we could come up with was some dark classical music
written by Antonio Ferrari in the early 2000’s. Antonio talks about
putting OLD YRON back together, but no one really knows if it’s going
to happen or even what it will sound like. So enjoy this for what it
is, a lost gem re-mastered the best we could get it."

OGRE Plague of the Planet
Label says "USA 70's/80's (sounding) Rock/Doom Metal hybrid band OGRE
have been together since 1999. They have a unique sound combining the
elements of BUDGIE, BLOODROCK, PENTAGRAM, BLACK SABBATH, RUSH, AC/DC,
etc with a Bon Scott/Ozzy styled vocalist that would appeal to any Rock
or Metal fan. OGRE has put 2 very solid and well respected albums out,
"Dawn Of The Proto-Man" and "Seven Hells". With their 3rd release out,
the band shows no signs of writer's cramp or slowing down. "Plague Of
The Planet" will not disappoint old fans and will impress potential new
fans!
Inspired by such classic albums as "2112", "Dark Side of the Moon", and
"Music from the Elder", "Plague of the Planet" is a full-on concept
album, consisting of a single multi-part epic suite that sends the
listener on a journey filled with pulverizing riffs, extended jams,
over-the-top vocals, and such familiar OGRE obsessions as giant robots,
dog-men, death, doom, and war. Plague of the Planet is more than just a
self-contained concept, however. Over the course of the album’s 38
minutes, the band incorporates lyrical motifs and musical themes from
OGRE songs going as far back as its 2000 demo, making Plague of the
Planet the ultimate distillation of the epic OGRE sound."

REACTOR The Real World
Tim states "Back in the late 70’s Richard Kueht and Paul Trowbridge
played guitar in PENTAGRAM before being replaced by Victor Griffin, who
we’re all familiar with. They hooked up with Steve Angel (singer/bass)
and drummer Ronnie Sharpe and formed REACTOR. They played some live
gigs in the mid 80's, one that is featured in this release. Shortly
after the gig, Richard moved down to Florida and was replaced by Mike
Reid, and at that time renamed the band THE REAL WORLD. They ended up
only recording a 6 song studio EP which is the first 6 songs off of
this release, that was never released until now. As far as their sound
is concerned, it just came out natural for them, nothing forced, just
basically some guys jamming good old SABBATH/PENTAGRAM influenced dirty
Rock N Roll with a “social relevant” lyrical message to the fans. The
music is raw, heavy, and catchy. After many line-up changes (even Joe
Hasselvander (he played guitar) was in the band at one point), they
decided to call it quits as it was more or less something for these
guys to hang around and do with no pressure and to let off some steam
rather than a band looking to go somewhere. This is one of the most
obscure 80’s bands around the Maryland/Virginia area, but I can tell
you this is without a shadow of doubt quality Heavy Metal/Rock and
deserves to be in anyone’s metal collection who’s looking to complete
their Maryland/Virginia Doom collection."

REVELATION Release
Tim says "The legendary US Maryland Doom is undeniably one of the best
if not the best metal scene in the history of Heavy Metal. REVELATION
(if you've never heard them) being one of the first and best bands from
the scene are back with another album. I cannot believe my ears when I
hear this album, that this was recorded in 2008?!?! It sounds like it's
still the late 80's/early 90's. My god, I can't tell you how blown away
I am by this! John Brenner hasn't even released a full-length
REVELATION album since 1992, but you wouldn't know it because this
could quite possibly be their very best album to date. Not to take
anything away from the other classic albums and the other outstanding
musicians on this album because all of the instruments are very well
executed and thank you Steve Branagan for keeping this band alive for
so long! REVELATION have in the past been compared to TROUBLE, but this
time around the songwriting is really a step out of that box and
extremely original sounding Doom – more like Progressive Doom, with
adventurous leads."

peak, think again. For The Sake Of No One is very much a continuation
of the last album so if you enjoyed the last album as much as I did,
you'll be eager to invite this new album into your collection as well.
Very few bands that are 20 + years can keep up with their classic
material and we're lucky enough to have REVELATION around, not only
keep the quality of music on par with their classics, but in some eyes
surpassing it."

REVELATION ...Yet So Far
Tim says "Revelation's 3rd full length album has been out of print for
quite some time now. This album features Dennis Cornelius and Jim
Hunter along side the staple of Revelation, Steve Branagan. This may be
Revelation's most accessible album to date. Longtime fans of Revelation
know what to expect, but newer fans on the fence should certainly check
this album out as it's a great album to start out with in their
catalog. Unfortunately the band did not have any bonus tracks for this
re-issue. All of the bonus material was released on the "Frozen Masque"
CD by The Miskatonic Foundation back in 2004. This album is fully

REVELATION Never Comes Silence
Tim says "Coming into their sophomore album, Revelation ended up losing
their bass player, Bert Hall (to pursue other music) and recruited Josh
Hart. The album started off as a demo and was also the album where the
band felt like they had corrected their mistakes on the “Salvation’s
Answer” debut. Shortly after they finished writing the entire album,
the band had good fortune to meet up with Hellhound Records who
happened to be signing a lot of the local Doom Metal bands. This album
is sort of a tribute to hard times John Brenner was going through and
shortly after the album came out, he left the band until the turn of
the century. This is a staple album in the Doom Metal genre and surely
is a great mix of Black Sabbath and Rush, which could be considered as
Progressive Doom if you want to get technical. There’s a bonus gig on
the multimedia CD that you can watch on your computer with this line up
of John, Josh, and Steve."

RITUAL Valley Of The Kings WITH CORRECTED DISC
SKR says "This old cult band from the UK started playing in 1973 and it
wasn't until 1983 until they got their first full-length out called
"Widow". Strangely enough the band was referred to as WIDOW back then
because apparently the records that were floating around had no RITUAL
name on it. RITUAL blends an unusual mix of 70's heavy rock and 80's
rock sounds from the N.W.O.B.H.M. with a real dream-like effect.
They're hard hitting old English Rock 'N Roll with a great clean
singer/songwriter Gypsy Re Bethe that you might find yourself singing
along to these infectious choruses. 10 years after "Widow" was
released, came their 1993 album "Valley Of The Kings" picking up right
where they left off in 1983. "Valley Of The Kings" sounds like it could
have been released in 1984! Ritual have a unique way of blending hard
hitting Rock 'N Roll riffs with melodic acoustic passages that take you
out of this world. If you love old 70's rock and metal like DEEP
PURPLE, JUDAS PRIEST, and old N.W.O.B.H.M. like ANGEL WITCH, DIAMOND
HEAD, QUARTZ, HOLOCAUST, etc... the RITUAL experience is what you need!

SERPENT'S
KNIGHT Silent Knight...Of Myth And Destiny 2CD
Tim says "Back in the mid-late
80’s a lot of people were familiar with the legendary band Sanctuary
because of they were able to sign a deal with a big label and with the
help of Dave Mustaine were able to make a name for themselves. But
let’s take a step back before this band and here we are with Serpent’s
Knight featuring the very well respected and well-known, Warrel Dane.
This was the very first heavy metal band he was in. The band was never
able to make a proper recording of the songs, just tried to do the best
they could with home recording equipment. So keep in mind the music was
saved on tapes after all these years and then re-mastered by Brad
Poland himself in 2009. The music on these old tapes was very well
written, dark, and featured some insanely high pitched vocals. It’s a
long story (which you will read in the CD booklet) but the band split
up, Warrel went on to do Sanctuary and the rest was history. In the
late 80’s Brad was able to find a new singer and wanted to make another
album, so they did and in this package you’ll get both albums in a
double CD set."

SINISTER REALM Sinister Realm
Tim says "Early 80’s styled Heavy / Doom Metal was formed by John
Gaffney after his departure from PALE DIVINE. After leaving PALE DIVINE
he asked Darin McCloskey to play drums. This new band is from the USA
taking influences from the early 80’s Heavy Metal scene that consisted
of a variety of bands like JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MADIEN, BLACK SABBATH,
DIO, CANDLEMASS, OZ, etc. The album is very catchy with well written,
memorable songs, with catchy chorus lines provided by a very talented
vocalist, Alex Kristof; his influences are in the league of Dio,
Halford, Dickinson. While the music is deeply rooted in the 80's Heavy
and Doom scene, it comes down to the arrangement of the songwriting
which in itself lies the unique part of SINISTER REALM. Their style is
very natural from the music they grew up on and the hooks on this album
are to die for! Once this album is digested, you will definitely hear
they have developed a sound and technique of their own. So sit back,

STONE GARDEN Stone Garden
15 tracks
Tim says "This is the first of more albums to come that will be
released under the Shadow Kingdom label that I feel fans of Heavy Metal
should OWN (from the 60's/70's) in your collection. If you’re still
searching for something heavier than BLACK SABBATH in the 60’s, just
forget it, it’s just not out there… BUT… for the late 60’s there wasn’t
much heavier than this amazing US Heavy Psychedelic / Acid Rock!
"Assembly Line" probably IS the heaviest song before BLACK SABBATH
emerged. For the time it doesn’t get any HEAVIER than this! If this
band would have played Woodstock, they would have blown the bell-bottom
trousers off of most of the bands and people there with their
heavy-fuzzed out guitar blasting riffs, garage-y drums, great catchy
vocals and intricate songwriting. Fans of BLUE CHEER, BANG, JEFFERSON
AIRPLANE, DEEP PURPLE, JIMI HENDRIX, FRANK ZAPPA, IRON BUTTERFLY,
STEPPENWOLF, THE DOORS, HIGH TIDE, 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS, (heavier)
BEATLES, CREAM, (of course) BLACK SABBATH, and so on, need to look into
this. This re-issue contains 5 extra bonus songs not included on the

UNHOLY CADAVER Unholy Cadaver 2LP + CD

amazing piece of metal history. Hammers Of Misfortune is a band who
we’re all pretty familiar with now and if you’re not familiar with
them, then you probably will be soon because they just signed over
their back catalog to Metal Blade Records. Unholy Cadaver is basically
pre-Hammers Of Misfortune. Anyone who was fortunate enough to hear the
3 song Unholy Cadaver demo is in for a treat because this release
contains all of their material, a lot of which has never been leaked
until now. The music is very unique Epic / Traditional Heavy Metal with
Black Metal influences. They’re a one of a kind band and if you’ve
heard Hammers Of Misfortune – The Bastard album, these songs are very
much like that album and arguably better. The release has an entire
history of the band, band photos, lyrics, and also this is a very

on the vinyl has been indeed mastered for vinyl and the CD inside was

WOLFBANE Wolfbane
Tim states "The N.W.O.B.H.M. technically speaking was the best Heavy
Metal movement of all –time. There are still bands today that grab
influence from that era of music and will continue to do so for as long
as I live because that’s where it all stems from, all these genres of
music, from thrash, to death, to black, to God knows what else, this
movement needs the credit it deserves! Since there was such a big boom
of bands that came out of that movement, a TON of bands fell beneath
the cracks and became obscure quickly. There’s still mountain of heavy
metal that needs to be kept alive and heard from old to new metal
heads. Here we are today with a perfect example of an amazing band that
not only fell beneath the cracks, but really never even put out an
album, just a couple of demo tapes before they went on to become a
really good Thrash metal band called BLOOD MONEY. They are arguably one
of the best 80’s Thrash bands to come out of the U.K. WOLFBANE, now
let’s get down to business here. This is the kind of heavy metal I
love. I am a HUGE, if not the biggest JUDAS PRIEST – Rock A Rolla fan
you’ll ever meet and I’ve never really heard a band even come close to
that style except for WOLFBANE! Think early PRIEST and BLACK SABBATH
mixed with PAGAN ALTAR styled vocals and a sprinkle of RUSH and ALICE
COOPER for good measure and somewhere in that mess of great bands lies
the sound of WOLFBANE. This is one of the very best obscure gems to
ever be released from this movement and because the band never recorded
an album, and they really didn’t keep much memorabilia from those days.
Here you’re going to get the first 2 demo tapes from 1981 and 1982
re-mastered and this is all the essential material you need. There was
a 3rd demo tape, but they went for a pop radio sound and wasn’t worthy
to put on the release. If we're lucky, we might get a BLOOD MONEY
re-issue too."
