Hell
Tremendous second effort by female fronted US traditional power metal
band. Every element, from songwriting to performance to
production, has progressed significantly -- hard to believe this is the
same band that released 'Satan's Playground' back in 2003, as it sounds
like the band made a three or four album leap. This band has obviously
worked very hard in the 4 years since their debut. Difficult to compare
the band to others, what with their strong, modern mid paced drumming,
crunchy guitar riffs (Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth would surely approve)
and the dramatic vocals of lead singer Cat (sounding uncannily like a
female Mark Shelton). Imagine a mix of Powers Court, Benedictum,
Hellion, Manilla Road (circa Open the Gates), and even Iced Earth's
midpaced stuff (circa 1998's Something Wicked...).
